Hi, I'm Julie

I'm a Product designer based in Seattle. I’m driven to create designs that make experiences more valuable, efficient, and meaningful.

I’ve worked with the Azure and Microsoft 365 teams at Microsoft. — Before transitioning to UX, I designed physical spaces, moving from crafting walls and spaces to creating seamless digital experiences. This background shapes how I approach digital design—balancing system, functionality, and a focus on human connection.

I led design to transform Cloud Capacity management experience at Microsoft.

Azure is Microsoft’s cloud platform, supporting over 350,000 business customers and reaching 1 billion users worldwide.

In July 2023, I joined the Azure team, leading design and shaping the strategy for the cloud management experience over 1.5 years.

Contribution

  • Implementing features to enabling users to manage cloud capacity and resolve related issues more efficiently
  • Leveraging research insights to build a strong user foundation (user journey, roles, JTBD, pain points) and inform product decisions
  • Envisioning North Star and new product opportunities to reimagine the end-to-end capacity management journey
  • Integrating Copilot-enabled experiences to streamline capacity management and improve issue resolution

Along with the cloud capacity design works, I led design on Microsoft's Responsible AI tool.

As AI grows, ensuring compliance is crucial for minimizing risks and maintaining trust — Microsoft built an internal Responsible AI tool to help teams manage compliance and governance with ease.

In May 2024, I joined this team. With constant user feedback and an inconsistent experience, I collaborated with cross-functional teams to improve the tool’s experience.

Contribution

  • Designed key features to improve efficiency, like "Quick copy", "Group actions", "Data loading" functionalities
  • Led north start initiatives to improve end-to-end experience
  • Improved collaboration by refining the design process with structured intake documents and streamlined hand-off workflows, while also creating a component library to ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability
